AWOS system being repaired
Some local residents will be happy to know the Gatesville weather may soon return to area television stations.
The Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) at the Gatesville Municipal Airport has not been operational since about June, but help is on the way.
City Manager Bill Parry reported the mother board in the computer was sent to California for repairs, but it could not be repaired.
A replacement computer,—which costs about $10,000—is en route and will be installed after it arrives.
