The Gatesville Fiber Arts group is to celebrate Worldwide Knit in Public Day on Saturday, June 10. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Junction on Route 36 in the meeting room, located at 1216 TX-36 N in Gatesville.
All knitters and crocheters are welcome to stop by for a little while or to stay for all three hours. There will be brunch, snacks, and conversation to celebrate this worldwide event. Bring a current fiber project to work on with the group.
Worldwide Knit in Public Day was first brought to light in 2005 by Danielle Landes. It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company. In 2015, this worldwide event switched from being a weeklong to a one-day celebration.
