The Gatesville Exchange Club will hold their annual Fire Ant Tour on Saturday, June 10, at the Gatesville Civic Center located at 301 Veterans Memorial Loop. On-site registration and packet pickup will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the morning of the race at the Gatesville Civic Center.
There will be two race options, the Fire Ant 100K Bicycle Tour will cost $40 and the Fire Ant 100K Bicycle Virtual Tour will cost $45. Both races will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A virtual ride option has been added for people who live far away who want to support the cause. Virtual riders will be sent their shirts and finishers medal in the mail one week after the event.
Photographers will be stationed all around the grounds of the event to take pictures. All photos will be free without purchase.
The Coffee Saloon will be at the event from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and Taco Damian’s will serve breakfast tacos for $2 dollars per taco and breakfast burritos for $6 per burrito.
Free food will be offered at the end of the ride as well as a swag bag, which will include a free pass to the local fitness center or pool to gain access to a hot shower.
The ride will begin at approximately 8 a.m., all riders will be required to wear helmets and safety gear. E-bikes are welcome. SAG stations will be placed at each 10-mile interval, and at the start and finish areas. Porta-potties will be available at each SAG station, and SAG wagons will drive on each route throughout the ride to assist riders if necessary.
All proceeds will go towards local scholarships for Gatesville Independent School District seniors and many other community service projects.
