Pearl Bluegrass and Pearl Cottage Bookstore are going on today, so drive on out to Pearl and enjoy some great music, fellowship, food, and shopping!

Remaining dates for these events for 2023 are: July 1, August 5, (Second Saturday in September) September 9, October 7, November 4, and December 2.  Mark these dates on your calendar and come see us in Pearl!

Next week, I will have a report on the annual Pearl Church of Christ week-long Vacation Bible School which took place May 29 through June 2. If you were in or near Pearl this past week, you probably heard a lot of joyful noises unto the Lord! Children are always a blessing, and Pearl was abundantly blessed during the week!

A little snippet of history from the Pleasure and Profit Club book (which you can purchase at The Pearl Cottage Bookstore): The date was June 1, 1933 (90 years ago). “The club met with Mrs. Kelly Whitt. During the working period, one quilt was quilted. The house was called to order and minutes were read and approved. Twelve members answered the roll call, and eight visitors were present. Two new members were added to the roll. Twenty cents were paid for fines which makes $3.60 in the treasury. We adjourned to meet with Mrs. Charles Elam on June 8 because she wanted the club before it disbanded for summer. Were served candy and popcorn.” Can’t you just imagine the fun these ladies had and the difference they made in the community! Oh, these changing times….
