Pearl Bluegrass event

We have learned that there is a new website for the Pearl Bluegrass event. Go to www.pearlbluegrassjam.org for all information about upcoming first Saturday jams and stage shows at the Pearl Community Center. There is also a new Facebook Page, Pearl Bluegrass Jam, Live Venue. Be sure and check out both the website and the Facebook Page to keep up with all the Pearl Bluegrass news.

There will be a Quarterly Meeting of the Pearl Community Center Board on Jan. 17, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., at The Pearl Community Center. Everyone is invited to attend.

Mr. Jack Elam will be turning 105 on Jan. 22. To help him celebrate, please get a card in the mail to P. O. Box 306, Evant, Texas, 76525. Mr. Elam was born and raised in Pearl and graduated from the Pearl School. He continues to visit Pearl whenever he is able. We love it when his daughter, Linda Kay Comer, brings him to the Pearl Cottage Bookstore to get a “pinky hug” from Linda Ray. Mr. Elam received the “Oldest Attending” award last year at the Pearl Church of Christ Homecoming. He also has family in Pearl and is near and dear to all our hearts. We wish you a wonderful, safe, and joyful birthday, Mr. Elam.

The annual Pearl Church of Christ Valentine Auction will be held on Feb. 13, 2022, following the church service. Church begins at 10:30 a.m. This is a silent auction, and bidding begins on Jan. 30 and goes through Feb. 12. You can stop by the church beginning Jan. 30 to view the auction items and place your bids. There will be furniture, china, glassware, purses, antiques, crystal, books, toys, tools, and so much more. All proceeds from the auction benefit local and His Kids of Lampasas scholarships in memory of Richard Williams. For more information, please contact Linda Ray at 254-865-9282.
