Oglesby Tigers Junior High football team both bring home a win

The Oglesby Junior High Football A team continued their undefeated season at 3-0, defeating the Mullin Bulldogs at home Sep. 19, 39-0. 

Offensively for the Tigers, Holdyn Goff, continued to lead all rushers with 120 yards, two touchdown runs of 25 and 40 yards, and two runs of 20 yards and 40 yards that ended on a fumble on the 3-yard line. Goff scored a pair of rushing Points After Touchdown and threw for one more to Evan Williamson for the conversion. 

Right on the heels of Goff was Mason Marquez, who rushed for 111 yards, including two touchdown runs of 45 and 16 yards. Marquez also scored a PAT run. Blayze Fisher had 15 yards on two carries from quarterback position. Couper Wulfkuhle was 1 for 3 on PAT conversions. 

Defensively for the Tigers: 

Jayce Aarron led all tacklers with five solo tackles and two assists. Evan Williamson had three solo tackles, one assist, and one 35-yard pick 6 for a touchdown. Mason Marquez had two solo tackles, two assists, and one fumble recovery. 

Couper Wulfkuhle had two solo tackles, one assist, and one interception. Holdyn Goff had one solo tackle, one assist, and one 30-yard pick 6 touchdown. Ranger Dalton had two solo tackles and two assists. Blayze Fisher had one solo tackle and one knocked down pass. The Tiger’s A team travels to Gustine next week to play the Gustine Tigers on Thursday, Sept. 28th, at 6 p.m. 

    The Oglesby Tigers Junior High Football B team got back on the winning track Tuesday night at home with a 36-6 victory over the Gholson Junior High Wildcats. Liam Ammerman led all rushers with 90 yards rushing, one 25-yard touchdown run, and one 35-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. 

Ammerman also scored 2 PATs. Brody Martinez had 59 yards rushing and two touchdown runs of 7 and 10 yards. AJ Marfa had one touchdown run of 15 yards. Hunter Insall had 31 yards rushing and a PAT. Ashton Thompson had 12 yards rushing and a PAT.

Defensively for the young Tigers:

Liam Ammerman led all tacklers with six solo tackles, four assists, one fumble recovery, and a tackle in the end zone for a 2-point safety. Hunter Insall had two solo tackles and one assist. Ranger Jeffcoat had two solo tackles and two fumble recoveries. Ashton Thompson had one solo tackle and an assist. AJ Marfa had four assists. Javoni Gonzales had one assist. Caden Bagley, Landry Riley, and Chayson Leverett all saw action tonight for the Tigers. The Tiger’s B Team travels to Gustine to take on the Gustine Tigers B team Thursday, Sept. 28, at 5 p.m.
