Motor vehicle crash reported on March 22

On Friday, March 22, at approximately 2:44 p.m., the Gatesville Police Department received a call of a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of North Hwy. 36 and FM 929.

Officers arrived along with the Gatesville Fire Department and Coryell Health Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel and found one vehicle occupant, an adult female, unconscious with apparent, life-threatening injuries.

Helicopter EMS crews were summoned, and the woman was transported by air to a local hospital. The women’s injuries were serious to the point that she was reported deceased at one time, but she remained alive and in critical condition as of being transported from the scene and her condition is unknown at this time.

Officers ascertained that a blue Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling eastbound on FM 929, attempting to go north on Hwy. 36. A blue Dodge pickup truck was southbound on Hwy. 36 and struck the Volkswagen.

Officers completed the crash investigation and cleared the roadways. Coryell County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Gatesville Independent School District Police Officers also assisted with the scene.
