Linda Graham, age 81, of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at her home.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 28, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Jimmy Ferguson officiating.  Interment followed at Hemmeline Cemetery. 

Linda Faye Graham was born on November 4, 1941, in Gatesville to the late Cecil and Catherine Stovall Dorsey. She grew up in Gatesville and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1960. She graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a bachelor’s degree in education. She married Charles Graham on August 24, 1962. She began her teaching career in 1967 for the Gatesville State School for Boys, until joining the Gatesville Independent School District in 1971. She taught at the elementary and junior high school until her retirement in 1999 with a total of 28 years with the district. Linda loved teaching and was a mentor to many of her students, as well as a tutor to those who needed instruction.  She established the Dorsey – Graham Memorial Scholarship and enjoyed awarding scholarships to help students further their education. Linda and her husband contributed to the founding of the Gatesville I.S.D. Education Foundation. She also enjoyed supporting the Coryell County Youth Fair. She was a member of Ft. Gates Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Don Dorsey and Cecil Dorsey, Jr.

Linda is survived by her husband, Charles Graham; son, Jay Graham and wife, Janet; daughter, Lisbeth Appelman and husband, Todd; sister, Dorothy Hunt; brother, Harold Dorsey and wife, Pamela; nine grandchildren, Damon Graham, Jared Graham, Jackson Graham, Ava Graham, Alex Appelman, Jessica Gowen, Jake Appelman, Joshua Appelman and Lucas Appelman; twelve great- grandchildren, Tyler, Asher, Gauge, Creedence, Pierce, Emma, Parker, Aaron, Ethan, Ashley, Sean and Damon, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
