James Thomas Kildow February 6, 1950 – February 12, 2023

James Thomas Kildow, age 73, of Gatesville, passed peacefully on February 12, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family.  Viewing for his family, friends and all that loved him will be held February 22, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Tom graduated from Black Rock High School in Black Rock, Arkansas.  He served in the Army in Korea during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. 

 

His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, gardening, basketball, and automobiles.  He had the biggest heart and treated everyone like family. Besides his best friend and soulmate, Brenda Hendren Kildow, his grandkids were the light of his life.  He was a businessman and had many talents. He could fix anything, and up until he couldn’t he had no problem supervising to make sure his boys did it right. He worked for Woodard Construction until he retired.

 

He was proceeded in death by his parents Theodore Eugene “TK” Kildow and Tona Vada Ring Kildow, his siblings Charles David Kildow, Theodore Eugene “Gene” Kildow Jr. and Mary Ann Kildow Wagner.  

 

He is survived by the love of his life, Brenda Hendren Kildow, his children, Rebecca Renae Sims (Van), Jennifer Marie Sutera (David), Benjamin Kildow, Glenn Eugene “Ditto” Kildow (Rachel) and Kenneth W. Johnson.  His grandchildren Khristian Kelly Ganson, Katelyn Ashley Sims, Kyle Aaron Sims, Avery Elizabeth Sutera, Kaden Gage Johnson, Michael David Sutera, Kye Thomas Gary Johnson, Tanner Remington Sutera, Corbin Taylor Sutera, Declan Wyatt Kildow and Smith James Kildow.  His siblings Sharon Kildow Bearer, Jerry “Buzz” Kildow (Rosemary) and Rena Jo Kildow.  Numerous nieces and nephews and the love of many close friends; including his best friend, David Whittenburg.

 

A celebration of life will be held at a later time to celebrate his life with friends and family.
