Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame to present Country/Blue Grass Special, Sept. 16

Posted

The Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame will present a “Country / Blue Grass Special” featuring Jamie Graham on Friday, Sept. 16, from 7-9 p.m.

Organizers say the goal of the presentation is to provide “good, wholesome music with a family- oriented flavor.” There is no admission charge, and the public is invited to attend.

The late Mike Kuzenka started the Gatesville Jamboree, and the Hall of Fame was formed about 2007. After Roger Vierse took over in 2007, he inducted Kuzenka as the first Hall of Fame inductee. Subsequent acts have included Steve Anderson, Tracy Lawrence, Clifton Jansky, Buddy Ferguson, and Steve Mitchell.

“The principal idea of the Hall of Fame is to recognize people who have talent, who play on a semi-professional or professional level,” Vierse said. He said he hopes the Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame will help honor those individuals as well as musicians who are now deceased.

The show is held on the third Friday of every month from 7-9 p.m. at the City Auditorium located at 110 N. 8th St. in Gatesville.
