Wall of Honor unveiled

The “Wall of Honor” was unveiled Thursday evening during a ceremony at the Gatesville Civic Center ballfields. Recreation director Sammy Cockrell, far right, introduced the honorees who are still living. Youth help fi refighters

Members of the Coryell City 4-H Club recently volunteered at the Coryell City/Osage Fire Department’s annual fi sh fry. 4-H members made homemade desserts, helped set up, serve and clean up at the event, as well as donated items for the silent auction. Members of the 4-H club also participated in fund-raising efforts for the department by selling tickets for a drawing that was held during the event. Hornets clip La Vega, 3-1, Friday

After the Gatesville Hornets disposed of La Vega Friday night, several scenarios remained a possibility for the District 17-4A outcome. The Hornets, 32-7 overall and 7-2 in district, entered Tuesday’s game with Lorena (8-1), with a chance of sharing a district championship.
