Hornet defense halts Jacket charge

A defensive stop on the final play of the game preserved a hard-fought game for the Gatesville Hornets in Stephenville. The Hornets edged the Yellow Jackets, 35-34, Tuesday to open the basketball season on a winning note.

Lady Tigers clamp down on Lady Eagles

A stifl ing second half defense carried the Oglesby Lady Tigers to a 40-21 victory Tuesday over the Morgan Lady Eagles. With the home court win, the Tigers evened their season record at 1-1.
